Growing up in New York, Scott’s first break came in third grade when he was cast in the role of the “Monkey” in “Big Cat, Little Cat, Old Man Monkey.” At that moment he was hooked on the excitement of being on stage and performing in front of people. He basically broke into professional acting with a subway map in his pocket, a stack of tokens and an unquenchable desire to make it, and make it big. He hit the pavement of New York City, making the rounds to agents and casting directors and by the age of 12, he had found himself a professional talent manager and soon began auditioning professionally. In six months he landed a commercial with Bowzer (of Sha Na Na) followed by a lead in a TV Pilot for which he was flown to Los Angeles. The following year, Scott was cast as the Young Robert DeNiro in the famous epic “Once Upon a Time in America.” Scott is a member of SAG, AFTRA and AEA. He has been in the films, “Three O’ Clock High,” and John Sayles’ “City of Hope.” He has also appeared as a guest on the TV show “New York Undercover.” He has performed in such diverse venues as The Hippodrome State Theater in Florida in Neil Simon’s hilarious and touching play “Biloxi Blues,” The Asolo Theater in Sarasota in “The Substance of Fire” and in Madison Square Garden in “Quadrophenia.” He has studied in New York with Lee Strasberg protégé, Ernie Martin as well as with the great Michael Howard. In Los Angeles he has studied with Gene Bua and Margie Haber, among others. Over a 25 year acting career he has appeared in over 60 Television, Film, Theater and Commercial productions. In the 1990’s Scott became more and more interested in creating his own projects as well as in teaching. It was during this time that he wrote and starred in his one-man show “Dirty Laundry”, which was performed at the HBO workspace in Hollywood. Scott still loves acting and has performed in and directed several plays and short films since relocating to Los Angeles in 1996. Slade Pearce with Scott
Scott’s teaching career actually started in the early 80’s when he was just a teen. It was at this point that he would help people get a handle on scenes and monologues and was something of a prodigy.
He was often quite a bit younger than the people he was coaching, even did a coaching with Tina “Ginger” Louise from Gilligan’s Island. In his 20’s, he began teaching theater games and improvisation to young actors.
Now, Scott has taken all his years of acting, writing and directing and combined them with his own quest for personal empowerment and self-transformation. He calls this powerful fusion, Transformational Dramatic Coaching. This diverse approach sets fire to the actor’s imagination, while opening them up to the unlimited possibilities in creating a role. Actors like Daniel Day-Lewis, Al Pacino, Robert Duvall, Meryl Streep, and Dustin Hoffman use their imaginations, history, art and the entire landscape of the world as the colors with which they will paint their own unique portrait. It is the use of all of themselves and the world around them that brings about their meticulous transformations.
In addition to his work in the performing arts, Scott’s passion for healing has led him to the study of Eastern philosophy and meditation. Scott attends regular seminars to expand his knowledge of self-empowerment techniques. He is also currently in the process of becoming licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California in order to deepen the work of his Transformational Dramatic Coaching.
Scott lives in Northeast Los Angeles with his wife Alicia.
The truth is that we have the power to manifest our abundance and our success.
